Abstract: Gilbert of Grinsdale, citizen of Carlisle, undertakes to pay the rent of two shillings a year, from land next to the land of Michael of Harrington on the south side of French Street, Carlisle, since the prior and convent of Lanercost were accustomed to receive a rent from land and a house in that street which once belonged to William the chaplain.
