Abstract: 81. Judgement by abbot Hugh of Langley and prior N. of Langley, judges delegate appointed by a mandate of Pope Honorius III (15 March 1217) in a suit between the prior and convent of Eye on the one hand and B. parson and William vicar of Rickinghall (Superior) and Hugh of Rickinghall, knight, on the other, concerning two thirds of the demesne tithes of 180 acres which the said Hugh holds of the honor of Eye in Rickinghall (Superior). The judges upheld the claim of the prior and convent that the tithes belong to them and not to the church of Rickinghall and B., William and Hugh are to pay them 5m for the tithes they have unjustly taken for the past 5 years. Quitclaim by Henry de Gardino son of Richard of Wrangle to the canons of a toft measuring fifty three feet before the abbot's gate in Wrangle and of 7s 1d rent there: 2s from Richard son of Baldwin, 6d from Walter below the Ditch, 1s from Robert son of Iwin's widow with a gift of 4d at Christmas and one day's mowing in autumn, 7d from Richard the shepherd's widow, 4d from William of Waltham, 8d from Thomas son of Alveva (brother to the donor), 2d from Richard son of Mathew, 4d from Richard son of Roger and 1s 6d from John son of Ranulf with a gift of 4d at Christmas and two days mowing in autumn.
