Abstract: 37. HUTTOFT Agreement between Bullington priory and Ketelbert of Keal, knight, about pasture called Pintelhournerske in Huttoft. Bullington has demised to Ketelbert, for 8d. yearly, the right to keep a maximum of fifty sheep there under his own shepherd. Lambs may follow their mothers until Trinity but will thereafter be impounded if not removed. Ketelbert has renounced all other claim to the pasture. [1236] When a dispute arose between R., rector of the church of Arncliff and Sallay abbey concerning the tithes of corn and pulse in Litton, by the authority of the Pope an amicable agreement was reached. The rector granted to the abbey peaceful possession of such tithes as they enjoyed in 1236, in return for half a mark annually.
