Notification' by Odo de Michegros that a plea on the king's writ in the court of the prior of Worcester between Odo as plaintiff in the place of his wife Eleanor, and Godfrey of Alstone (co. Glouc.) concerning 1 hide in Alstone was settled thus by the outcome of the duel in the aforesaid court between Peter de Wicha, Odo's champion and Richard de Dunie, Godfrey's champion- Godfrey and his heirs shall do homage to Odo and his heirs by Eleanor and they to the prior of Worcester, and when the rent due to the prior is to be paid Odo will come or send to Godfrey's house and receive the rent and immediately before leaving the house return it to God- frey as his seneschal to be rendered to the prior, and if Odo does not come or send, Godfrey may pay it directly to the prior; Odo and Eleanor also quitclaim to the prior their right in 5 virgates and 1 mill in Overbury. 1203.
