Abstract: Notification by Pagan abbot of Warden, G. prior of Chicksands, and Osbert prior of Cauldwell that the plea between the prior and monks of St Neot and Matthew the Priest of Thurning, Northamptonshire, about the tithes of 24 acres in Hemington parish has been settled before them, to whom it had been committed for hearing by pope Urban III. Matthew the Priest has restored a moiety of these tithes to the prior and monks, and they have granted the other moiety to him for the term of his life. (1186, 7). There is a mention of the 'aqua que dicitur Persidik' In connexion with the river Wharfe in a Percy charter of the middle of the thirteenth century.'
