Abstract: 386. Notification by the priors of Great Malvern and Astley and the (rural) dean of Worcester that, having received a mandate of Pope Gregory IX dated 26 March 1232 ordering them to settle the dispute between the monks of Worcester and certain persons in the sees of Coventry and Worcester who were withholding tithes from the monks, etc., they heard the monks' complaint against Thomas Rupe, knight, who had withheld from them tithes from his demesne at Harvington and inflicted other injuries whereby they suffered damage to the extent of 50 marks, and that the monks pardoned the damage and Thomas undertook to desist from injuring them under pain of forfeiture of 100s. 1232. Abstract: 319. Amicable composition terminating dispute between the monks and Gilbert Picot, knight, concerning tithes payable to the church of Little Packington which was heard before papal judges-delegate following the monks' complaint to Gregory IX (see no. 386). Gilbert undertook to render to the monks all tithes of hay of the manor of Little Packington, his own and his tenants', 12 cartloads of wood annually and timber with which a house for the chaplain shall be built and maintained, and gave them 0.5 acre of land and a close in his wood. 1232.
