Abstract: 4 Acton Reyner Pro Cantaria ibidem. Settlement of a dispute between the abbot and convent of Haughmond, rectors of Shawbury, and their vicar on the one side, and Reyner, lord of Acton Reynald, on the other, about the chantry in Acton chapel, one virgate, and the tithes of another virgate in Acton- Reyner acknowledges that the chapel is subject to the mother- church of Shawbury to which all tithes ought to be paid, and that the virgate in question also belongs to Shawbury church. The abbey, however, acknowledges that Shawbury church is responsible for providing a chaplain to celebrate mass three days a week in the chapel .
