Abstract: 14. Notification by R[obert Grosseteste] bishop of Lincoln of the settlement made at his instance of a dispute between the prior and canons of Bushmead and the rector and vicar of Eaton [see no. 6]. The priory is to have free burial of its servants, of paupers dwelling there for the soul of Henry de Braybrooke [no. 48], and of others who choose to be buried there, provided that in the case of a parishioner of Eaton taking a corrody at the priory the body is first to be taken to Eaton church; the priory also has the right of hearing confession and taking oblations and mortuaries from its servants. The church of Eaton may take of the priory's servants the tithes which they have in Eaton, and tithes of business dealings if the servants have any; and is to receive from the priory 1 mark yearly.
